Track record

Two moments where the operating model was tested.

The Rapid Response Team service has been called on at airports across the UK. Two recent moments are detailed below. The operations team can walk you through similar work for your airport on request.

12,000+

shifts filled across more than fifteen UK airports, since 2016

Years of rapid response across the UK.

The work has spanned baggage system failures, NATS and ATC outages, winter resilience, drone incursions, airline collapses and repatriation, lightning strikes, political visits, industrial action, and staff-shortage surge cover.

Red Sky operatives on shift at Aberdeen International Airport, winter 2024/25

90%

retention across the winter resilience programme

Aberdeen winter resilience

Aberdeen sits at the edge of the UK's winter weather. Long cold months, frequent severe-weather events, an operational tempo that does not slow when the temperature drops. The winter resilience programme there demanded compliant operatives who could mobilise pre-dawn, work outdoors at three in the morning, and return shift after shift across the season.

Nine in ten operatives placed on the programme returned shift after shift. The retention rate was unusual for the sector. The same operating team now leads Arnett UK.

The Red Sky team have proven to be an integral cog at Aberdeen International Airport, providing skilled resource to supplement our Winter Operations continuity plan. The team are highly motivated and understand their work ensures safe operations in inclement weather. I really enjoy working with the Red Sky Team.

operatives mobilised in 15 hours

Heathrow Terminal 5, December 2024

December 2024. A baggage system failure at Heathrow Terminal 5 created an immediate need for compliant operational support. The Rapid Response Team service was engaged via a first-tier supplier to Heathrow and given a 15-hour window to deploy a fully compliant team of 25 operatives, 19 active and 6 on reserve.

Of the team, 10 operatives already held the required HAL Approved AirDat manual handling qualification. The remaining 15, sixty per cent of the deployment, needed urgent training. Arnett UK delivered it out of hours so that every operative was compliant before deployment. Hi-vis vests and safety boots were supplied where required. A team representative oversaw early check-in on shift one and delivered the on-stand toolbox talk.

All 25 operatives met the HAL Approved AirDat requirement. The team was on stand within the 15-hour window. The same operating team now leads Arnett UK.

Meet the team

The team behind the response

Arnett UK is run by people who have managed airport operations from the inside. When the pressure comes, you are dealing with operators who know the apron, not a call centre.

  • Kayla Sharp, Delivery Director

    Kayla Sharp

    Delivery Director

Kayla owns delivery. With more than fifteen years in recruitment, much of it staffing UK airports, she runs sourcing, mobilisation and the client relationship on every programme, and is your point of contact from the first conversation through to operatives on the apron.

  • Liam Gray, Operations Director

    Liam Gray

    Operations Director

Liam runs operations. He spent over a decade in frontline airport operations, from the ramp at Gatwick to running an on-site contingency model of more than 500 staff at Heathrow, covering day-to-day running and emergency disruption and working directly with airport authorities and ground handlers. That is the instinct he brings to how Arnett deploys and manages its teams.

  • Ken Pereira, Resilience Manager

    Ken Pereira

    Resilience Manager

Ken keeps the operation resilient when conditions turn. His background spans aviation recruitment and large-scale operational resilience, including senior workforce and operations roles in the NHS, and he manages contingency, vetting, airside passes and recency so the people Arnett sends are cleared, current and ready to work.

More moments than these two.

These are the recent moments we can talk about publicly. There are others. The operations team can walk you through similar work for your airport, your scope, your operating constraints.
